Why do they call Chicken Wings Buffalo Wings? While there are many different versions of buffalo wings, the original name came from the Bellissimo Family in 1964 from a bar they owned called the Anchor Bar in Buffalo New York. Hence the name. At Siam Vanilla, we try to offer food items on our menu that we like to eat ourselves. When we lived in Honolulu Hawaii, I usually picked up about 25-35 hot wings after work to take home for dinner. Sure it’s not healthy, but this was our weekly guilty pleasure. French fries, fresh carrot and celery sticks, and ranch or blue cheese dressing accompanied the large wing order. If we were not having wings on Friday night then we were having wood-fired pizza. We just continued our family tradition here in Thailand. If we have leftover wings or dough, from Saturday or Sunday when the cafe is open, that’s what we had for dinner those nights. We all know how unpredictable the food industry can be; this is our way to salvage wasted food costs if business is slow. Not to mention our three dogs who will gladly eat pizza, hamburgers or mashed potatoes from the locomoco. We have had a few customers rave about our Buffalo Chicken Wings.
